TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Department of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth lands on the griddle in this morning’s confirmation hearings.  I’m watching as I write these words…Gazing at Gaetz: I tuned in last night to watch “The Matt Gaetz Show” on the ultra-right-wing OAN.  He was better than I expected in his sixth show after debuting last week.  I get no pleasure writing this, but he came across as personable and well spoken. However, he needs a new wardrobe.  The black suit and tie combined with the white shirt made him look like a funeral director…NewsBusters used some nasty words to describe former Washington Post columnist Jen Rubin who announced yesterday that she’s leaving the famed legacy news brand to start a new outlet called The Contrarian offering political and cultural commentary. NewsBusters called her a two-time Hack Madness champion (not sure what that is), a walking cartoon and a fake conservative.  The Washington Free Beacon also threw shade at Rubin, although with less snark. “The Contrarian is built on a premise some would describe as delusional,” wrote the Free Beacon’s Andrew Stiles.  “In Rubin's view, the mainstream media have been too soft on Donald Trump, if not openly supportive of his MAGA agenda.” The criticisms didn’t seem to hurt her launch because as of last night, the site had 35,000 subscribers…TheRighting’s tech-savvy contributor David Zylber has written a handy user’s guide to leaving X and loving Bluesky.  Zylber details the growing problems with X since the Musk takeover, while crowing about the progressive-friendly Bluesky features he loves…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. California Needs to Be Democrat-Proofed

As wildfires consumed over 5,000 buildings in Los Angeles last week, killing 24 people, Democrats in Sacramento had far more pressing business to attend to: allocating $50 million to attack a presidential administration that hasn’t even taken office yet.

The Golden State looks like a failed state, with its decline marked by the failures of Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass. Thanks to their leadership, California is in shambles, and Los Angeles is an inferno.

Gov. Newsom tilts at carbon emissions, not fire mitigation.

The Idiocy of the Climate Change Brigades

source: Unleash Prosperity

Nothing emits more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and puts carcinogens into the air we breathe than forest fires. And nothing has done more to destroy trees – which absorb carbon out of the atmosphere – than forest fires. The federal government spends tens of millions of dollars on tree planting programs.

It’s OK That We Don’t Have More Female Firefighters

Gender diversity doesn’t save lives.

Diversity Insurance

source: FrontPage

The infrastructure of yesterday’s cities used to be run by somebody’s brother-in-law while the infrastructure of today’s cities is being run by a professional grievance expert with the right combination of skin color, sex and sexual appetites and makes that brother-in-law, who at least managed to marry into the right family, look like a genius. That’s bad news for you.

Blame Newsom, Not Climate Change, for LA Wildfires

source: American Spectator

Newsom failed to keep his promises on preventing wildfires — and misled to hide it.

Gavin Newsom’s Solution to the Wildfire Disaster Is More Government

source: American Greatness

Gov. Newsom’s proposal to fix the bureaucratic disaster he helped created with ever-increasing amounts of bureaucracy is strong evidence that he hasn’t learned from his mistakes.

The Manufactured Outrage Over Pete Hegseth’s Nomination

The debate over Pete Hegseth’s nomination is not just about one man; it is a test of whether America still values civilian oversight of the military and respects religious freedom.

Dems Are Terrified Pete Hegseth Might Bring a Little Common Sense to the Pentagon

One of Trump’s priorities is eradicating wokeism from our armed forces — a plague President Joe Biden exacerbated and Hegseth is committed to defeating.

How RFK Jr. Confirmation Will Make America Healthy Again

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reportedly just secured the votes to get confirmed as secretary for Health and Human Services. Anyone who cares about lowering healthcare costs and holding "Big Pharma" to account should be overjoyed at this news.

DEI’s Homos, Lesbos and Dumbos

source: WND

Diversity, equity and inclusion were hallmarks of hiring in the Biden administration. In truth, those "given" such positions were proof-positive representations of failure that is consistent with those whose skill sets are based upon being homos, lesbos and dumbos.

You'll never guess how the purple-haired lesbians & the rest of the Lib maniacs reacted to the news that Carrie Underwood will be performing "America The Beautiful" at next week's Trump inauguration. They took the news in stride? WRONG.

No One Wants a Biden Presidential Library
